Create Your Own Card
Create Your Own Card turns your own photo into a real, printed greeting card, posted to you or straight to the person it is for. Upload a picture, position it, add a border and a line of text if you fancy it, write your message inside, and we print and send it. No apps, no design skills, and about two minutes on your phone.
What you can make
If you have a photo, you have a card. A few of the things people use it for:
- Birthdays: the dog in a party hat, a favourite holiday snap, or an old photo of the two of you.
- Anniversaries and Valentine's: a picture from the day you met, or from the wedding.
- New baby and new home: the first photo, or the keys in the door.
- Thank you and congratulations: graduations, new jobs, passing the test.
- Pets: because a card with someone's dog on the front never misses.
- Inside jokes: the unflattering photo they will pretend to hate. Add your own caption on the front and make it worse.
- Christmas: a family photo card, or a pack of ten to send round.
How it works
The whole thing happens on one page, so you never lose your progress.
- Pick your size. A 7x5 card, a larger A4 card, or a pack of ten identical 7x5 cards.
- Add your photo. Upload straight from your phone's camera roll or your computer. Photos taken on an iPhone (HEIC) work fine.
- Position it. Pinch or drag to zoom and move the photo, and rotate it if it is the wrong way round, until it sits how you want in the frame.
- Add a border (optional). Choose a colour and width, or leave the photo filling the whole card.
- Add a line of text (optional). A name, an age, a caption or a punchline on the front, in your choice of font and colour.
- Write the inside (optional). Add your message inside in the same font styles, or leave it blank to write by hand.
- Choose delivery. Send it to yourself with an envelope, or straight to the recipient. You can even pick a delivery date.
- Check and add to basket. Look over the front and inside preview, then add it to your basket. What you see is what we print, so give it a quick check first.
On a phone
The card builder is designed for phones first, which is where most photos live anyway. Pinch to zoom, use one finger to move the photo, big buttons, one step at a time. Snap a photo, drop it in, add a border, done.
On a desktop or laptop
Everything works the same on a computer, with a little more room to fine-tune the position and the text. If you want to nudge things precisely, a bigger screen makes it easier. Upload a photo from your files and away you go.

Getting a great print
Your card is only as good as the photo you use, so a few quick tips:
- Use the clearest, highest-quality photo you have. The builder will warn you if a picture is likely to look soft once printed.
- Bright, well-lit photos print best. Very dark or blurry ones can lose detail.
- Try not to zoom in too far on a small photo, as there is less detail to work with.
- Check that faces and the important bits sit inside the frame, not right on the edge.
Common questions
What kind of photos can I use?
JPG, PNG and iPhone HEIC photos all work. Just pick the clearest version you have.
Will my card look exactly like the preview?
Yes. We print your design exactly as it appears in the preview when you add it to your basket, so please check your photo, wording and spelling before you order.
Can I send it straight to someone else?
Yes. Choose "send to them" and we will post it directly to the recipient, with the inside message you have written. You can also pick a delivery date.
Can I order lots of the same card?
Yes. Choose the pack of ten for ten identical cards, or increase the quantity for single cards. Everyone gets the same front and the same inside message.
How long will it take to arrive?
Cards are printed to order, so delivery time is production plus postage. The options and estimated timings are shown at checkout, and are set out in full in our Delivery & Returns Policy.
Can I return a personalised card?
Because each card is made just for you, personalised cards cannot be returned unless they are faulty or not printed as you approved. See our Custom card print terms for the detail.
